Gary has been the Greenhouse Superintendent at the Biotechnology Support Facility since 2012. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies from Youngstown State University and a bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management from The Ohio State University.

Prior to working in the greenhouse, Gary was a research assistant with the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center, sold lawn and landscape products built and maintained athletic fields, and worked two winters on the grounds crew for the Philadelphia Phillies at their spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida.
